April 7, 2025

Women in Mining Perú (WIM Perú) has announced its new board of directors for the 2025–2027 period, with economist Nahil Hirsh stepping in as president. Hirsh aims to actively support the professional growth and leadership of women across Peru’s mining sector.

The newly appointed leadership team features experienced professionals with solid backgrounds in mining and strategic industries. Miluska Cervantes will serve as first vice president, Mirtha Rodríguez Rojas as second vice president, Yhamileth Pérez Cruzado as secretary general, and Sisley Báez Mauricio as treasurer.

“In the coming years, we will focus on building a stronger, more active community. Our priority is our members: we want to enhance their opportunities, skills, and representation across all levels of the mining industry and in every region of the country,” said Hirsh upon taking office.

WIM Perú also emphasized the key role of its institutional allies in this ongoing mission. “We are deeply grateful for the support we receive. Their commitment to gender equity and the professional development of women is essential to creating a more inclusive and competitive mining sector,” Hirsh added.

With over 3,000 members and a presence in 15 regions, WIM Perú has become a leading organization promoting female talent in the mining industry. Since its founding in 2016, the group has launched more than 200 initiatives and now collaborates with 51 institutional partners dedicated to its mission.

Among its flagship programs are the internationally recognized Mentoring Program, Umalliq Warmi (“Leading Woman”), and Kuraq Ñañayki (“Elder Sister”), all of which are set to continue during this new leadership phase.
